What is Intern To Employee About? Intern to Employee: Be a Keeper! is the creation of Jeanette Simpson, ASID. Over the course of her career, Jeanette has hired, trained and mentored interns and new employees. It was during her time managing and supervising interns that she noticed a gap between what interns have learned in school and what they need to know as professionals. As a mother, grandmother, coach, and teacher, Jeanette has spent her life teaching youth the value of a strong work ethic, how to set and reach goals, how to prepare for the future and to believe in themselves. This desire to see young people succeed has carried over into this project as she reaches out to help students in their transition from intern to employee. Intern to Employee is open to joint ventures with authors of books (and other media) pertaining to internships and entry-level employment throughout all industries, both from the employer perspective as well as the intern. About the Founder Jeanette Simpson, ASID is the founder and president of KidSpace Interiors, located in Lakewood Ranch, Florida where she provides commercial and residential design for children’s spaces. Before opening KidSpace, Jeanette worked for architectural firms in Atlanta, GA and Sarasota, FL where she was part of award winning design teams. Jeanette holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Environment from Brigham Young University and is a professional member of ASID, an NCIDQ Certificate holder and a licensed designer in Florida. She has worked in many segments of the interior design industry including hospitality, corporate, medical, retail, residential and kitchen design. One of her many talents includes designing theme bedroom furniture for a children’s fine furniture company located in Santa Ana, California.
